Are You Letting Fear and Panic Steal Your Financial Blessings?

Writer's picture: Tea DeakTea Deak

Recently, I experienced a moment where the same message kept recurring, prompting me to finally take notice. Within an hour, a beggar asked me for change, a few meters down the road I saw a sign at a college saying “prepare the change money,” and when I was at the cashier in a store, my brother asked if I had any change to contribute.

I realized it wasn't a coincidence. At times, the Holy Spirit communicates through natural signs, and I felt this was one of those instances. I understood the need to allocate a small sum of money beforehand for different purposes.

At this stage in my life, I am consciously choosing to be mindful of my financial habits, prioritizing saving over spending, even though I have some personal needs that aren't fulfilled. Nonetheless, I have set aside some funds to help others, as I feel guided by the Holy Spirit to spread acts of loving kindness.

As I write this, I feel it is important to caution readers about managing their finances wisely. You may already be facing unexpected expenses and needs. When these sudden needs arise, avoid rushing to address them immediately. Sometimes, fear and panic are used to 'steal' money and lead us to mismanage the financial blessings we have been given. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” - John 10:10

Today's blog post encourages being ready to spend small sums of money, not exceeding pocket change. There may be chances to help someone or handle unexpected expenses. Be vigilant and manage the financial blessings entrusted to you wisely. Sometimes, a sudden urgent need may not be as pressing if you take some time to consider it. Strive to be a responsible steward of the resources you are given!

“A wise man saves for the future.” – Proverbs 21:20

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” - James 4:7
