Embracing Vulnerability: Letting Light into Your Heart and Home

Everyone needs a place where they feel they belong, and that place should be home. No matter where you travel in the world, eventually you'll feel a pull to return to your home and family.

Likewise, there exists a place, a location where individuals act as your spiritual mother and father, accountable to God for your spiritual welfare. The Heavenly Father has provided a space for you in this spiritual home to help you grow and develop as a person. Just as every household has rules, so does the church to which you belong.

A proverb states, “Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox” - Proverbs 14:4 (ESV). This highlights that while it is natural for people to work diligently like oxen, their efforts will inevitably lead to some disorder.

Mastering the ability to adhere to rules and tidy up our own mistakes can require time and effort. Just like any caring parent, Heavenly Father desires for you to grow into a responsible and respectful adult who learns to rectify their own errors.

Today's message encourages you to open the windows and doors of your heart, allowing light to uncover any disorder within both your natural and spiritual families. Picture your heart as a house with doors and windows. You can approach these and open them, inviting Jesus to let sunlight into your house and reveal the mess that has accumulated. You can also seek His wisdom on how to tidy up your mess and assist others in cleaning up theirs.

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” - Ephesians 4:2-3
