How to Recognize and Thwart Theft Tactics

Last night, I had a dream that reminded me of an incident from two years ago. One night I was walking from a parking lot to my apartment when two young migrants approached me. I was holding a phone, replying to a text message, when they suspiciously started asking questions about it. Keeping an eye on my building entrance while walking towards it, I casually mentioned words like “calling police” during our conversation. At the same time, I was considering how to react in case of a sudden attack. Just a few steps from my building entrance, one of the young migrants attempted to grab my phone, which I hid behind my back as he reached into his pocket for something. I began yelling from the bottom of my gut, which momentarily caught him off guard, although he continued the assault. My shouting drew the attention of men playing chess in the nearby park, who yelled at the two young men, prompting them to leave upon realizing there were witnesses. When I called my pastor, we decided to contact the police, knowing the young men might assault someone else that night, which they did. They threatened another woman with a knife and took her phone and wallet. The young men were caught and arrested that same night.

Last night, I was reminded of that incident after having a dream that felt like a warning. In the dream, I was driving a ministry car with some valuables inside. I parked it at home and went in the house to rest. When I came out, I noticed an enemy using a cunning strategy to steal the valuables from my car. The enemy had parked several cars around mine, blocking my exit. I realized it was a ploy to get me to open my car so they could steal the valuables. Seeing what was happening, I alerted the neighborhood about the enemy's tactic, and the parked cars began to move one by one. After that, I was able to continue my work.

Reflecting on the numerous blessings I've recently received, which I intend to use wisely and cautiously, I recalled last night when I was contemplating whether to address an unexpected need. I chose to delay my decision, understanding that haste lacks wisdom. I wanted to prayerfully consider various options before responding. The answer to my prayer came in the form of a dream I had last night. I interpreted this dream not only as a personal answer to my prayer but also as a warning to readers to remain vigilant in their financial and relationship decisions. There appears to be a persistent agenda by the adversary to drain the valuable resources of individuals and ministries. Various distractions might be employed to catch people off guard, leading to both financial losses, as well as relationship connections. Prayerfully consider, with wisdom, how to utilize all your resources. The enemy's theft doesn't have to involve only finances or material possessions; it can include family members, friends, partnerships, or anything else of value in a person's life. Stay vigilant and keep watch over everything valuable in your life!

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” - John 10:10-11
