Following a Wave program, I was preparing to drive someone home when heavy snowfall began. Consequently, I went outside early to get the car ready for a lengthy journey.
Throughout the day, I make a conscious effort to connect with the Holy Spirit in prayer multiple times, and as a result, I have become more attentive to the signs and various ways in which He communicates daily. Recognizing repeated signs is one of the ways He speaks to me.
Out of the blue, while driving, I began to hear various tones of an alarm clock with my spiritual senses. I interpreted this as a signal from the Holy Spirit, serving as both a warning and a reminder to pray. During my prayer, I sought to understand the significance of this, and a specific verse came to my thoughts: “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;” - Colossians 4:2 NKJV
After dropping friends off at their home, I silently prayed in tongues on my way back, unsure of what to pray for. Before going to bed, I even set my alarm clock to wake up at night for prayer.
I also knew I needed to share this experience to invite you to tune in to prayer and pay attention to signals you receive in response. Also, I sensed that I needed to share a warning of the enemy’s attack that will try to cause damage in any way it can if we do not pay attention. In the coming days, we will be tempted to say and do things that might cause conflict, so let us be careful which thoughts we entertain.
What we ponder eventually finds expression in the words we say, the attitude we develop, and how we behave. "Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." - Colossians 4:5-6 NKJV
As I write this blog post from my home, I can hear a car alarm going off, alarming everyone in the neighborhood. It serves as another confirmation of the sign I have been noticing in various forms since yesterday. I understand it now. In response, I am vigilant in prayer, and you can be too.
