What Does the Gift of a Colored Page from a Coloring Book Say About the Holy Spirit's Guidance?

A couple of days ago, a dear friend gave me a gift. She colored a page from a coloring book and gave it to me. Knowing that this friend is receptive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I paused to reflect on the theme of the gift.

The theme resembled a drawing she gave me last summer. Back then, she depicted a closed door of a restaurant on a Croatian island. This time, it was a closed door of a house. It reminded me of my newfound interest in photographs of beautiful, old closed doors.

Given that I ponder on Revelation 3:20 almost daily, I felt the significance of the child-like creative gift I was given. When I got home with her gift, I prayed. I continually sought grace for the Holy Spirit to open certain closed doors. I had a sense that He desires to unveil what was taking place behind some closed doors.

Nearly every night, the Holy Spirit communicates with me through dreams. I've mentioned this in one of the previous blog posts. This time, the Holy Spirit revealed the origin of severe spiritual attacks that affected two individuals I care about deeply. It was also revealed that, at that time, I was unsure how to pray about the situation, as if the line of communication for receiving help from God was disrupted.

This particular insight provided me with an understanding of what to look for in a place of prayer for those who experienced the aftermath of the attack I witnessed privately, and to find healing and recovery from past trauma.

The insight from a dream provided an opportunity to share it with those connected to the past traumatic event. This sharing allowed us to pray together about the harm caused and to pursue restoration and healing.

Maybe some closed doors can also be opened for you if you ask and search. There appears to be grace in opening doors that were previously closed.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” - Matthew 7:7-8 ESV
